Escalante

Here's a few photos of Christian's trip to the slot canyons of Utah. When I first viewed the pictures, I couldn't tell what was what, and I have been in slot canyons before. So, enjoy the pretty colors even if you can't understand the photo.

Never so far...

you are never so far that my love can't find you
never so far that i can't see your face
never so far, let me remind you
never so far from our loving place

He's been gone since after lunch, but looking to the next week, I miss Christian already. A shout goes out to all you gals who have hitched your wagon to the traveling man...I don't think I could do without my man for very long or very often. Luckily for me, my nesting instinct has kicked in over the past few days. I am sure I'll occupy my evenings scrubbing the trim in the kitchen, organizing the cereal boxes, making sure all the socks have mates, and other trivial, but momentarily very essential tasks.

32 weeks

So, the baby has his/her head down in the right spot, a bottom way over on my left side, and feet clear across my belly to the right side. I am predicting long legs on this one.
Christian celebrated his birthday this past weekend (no matter how slowly I attempt to age, he just doesn't catch up to me!) Next week, he is going on a canyoneering trip to Utah. For those who don't know, this activity involves "slot" canyons, ropes, helmets, wet suits, harnesses, etc. We went on a trip to the same area (Escalante) the week before I found out I was pregnant with Silas. It is like a huge playground and I hope he has fun with his bro and the other guys.

My sister-in-law is coming to hang out/help out for the week. I am hoping to accomplish a couple of pre-baby projects.

And now its time for...the rest of the story...

(Sorry to hear that Paul Harvey has died recently.) The kids have recovered from the rampant virus that hit our small town. Here's a shot of them taking a little trip to Sesame Street last week.

They are feeling much better lately. In a few more days we ought to be able to start socializing again. We've had beautiful weather. So, we've been taking lots of walks and playing in the yard.
Christian and I took a snowmobile ride up in the mountains this weekend.
We've discovered that we don't even need a trailer! How red-neck is that? Our ancient sled hanging out of the back of our almost-as-ancient car?
We rode all around Slumgullion and up to the top of 71 (a nearby peak).
Here's the view from 71. Lake City is down and to the right of the photo.
