Do you still have that dog?

Yes, we still have Annie. She's pushing ten years, which is rather ancient for a dog of her size. She has been wonderful with our children. We've bluntly told Priya that Annie is the closest thing to a horse she will ever own while living with us. Since Christian swears Annie is the last of the Hartman family pets, we're enjoying her company while we still can.

Why the last? Just so you know, good ole Daisy passed away not too long ago. It was a heartbreaker, but she was having a pretty tough time hanging on.

I still remember the clicking of Daisy's puppy claws on the wood tile. Rest in peace, old girl.

Streed was just asking me today for another dog. Our Chloe had to be put to sleep last year after being hit by a car. He as talked a lot about her over the past six or so months. I just can't handle one more dependent at the moment. So, I hear ya. It is nice to have a pet that is good with your kids though. Maybe one day if we have a different job that doesn't require us to travel so much. Anyway, your dog is very pretty and looks super sweet. I hope she is around much longer. Tell Mr. Presley that I remember the way Daisy's eyes were all red and bulging after being exposed to some dirty smelly air at such a young age.

yeah, it took quite a few bottles of Puppy-Brand Visine to get those eyes back to their natural doggish color.
