Getting desperate

Priya was just about "trained" when she contracted a nasty virus (which I think was rotavirus) about a month ago. She was rather ill and became afraid of the potty. We're at it again. The other day I gave her a World Vision magazine and explained that most children in the world don't have access to basic sanitation and that she should be thankful that we have a potty and therefore she should rejoice to be able to use it. I'm not sure if this method will be successful as of yet.

Chocolate milk

The last time we went to Gunnison for groceries, the pint size chocolate milks were on sale for 35 cents. We were planning a picnic in the park and I couldn't pass up the deal. We split one in Gunnison and the kids split one the next day at home. Notice, Silas is wearing his soccer socks. He now has an understanding of dribbling, but we're still working on hop like a frog and crawl like a crab for the warm-up time.

More nephew pics

Here's a couple more pictures of Micah. You can see that he looks like his brother, Titus, and how chubby he is.

A very good Easter, indeed.

We have a new nephew as of this Easter morning. Micah Camden Humphreys was born at 6:30am and was a big boy at 8lbs 10oz. I was blessed to attend the birth at Dan and Amy's home. That makes four little nephews for us. The oldest is not yet three. Well, I suppose it is our turn next. 36 weeks and counting...

I feel your pain, Vinny.

Maybe all the poor guy had was an ear infection. I woke up with a raging ear infection at 1 am last night. I'm considering cutting mine off and mailing it, too. Any takers?

Daddy is soooo cool

Christian borrowed a backhoe for the day to move some dirt for our greenhouse. He showed up for lunch today in it, and the children went wild. Both kids took a turn lowering the bucket and giggling. I thought I was cool for taking them to the park and coffee shop this morning, but Christian wins the most popular parent award for today.

Caught you

Priya has taken to organizing the silverware drawer. Thank goodness someone in this family has taken on that task! Christian is skiing at Crested Butte today with some local teenagers. And, we're all anticipating the coming of Dan and Amy's second child (due date is tomorrow).

Whenever someone asks me, "Are you ready for the next baby," I answer with a hearty "No." I am still overwhelmed by having two little ones. I am excited about meeting the new family member...but I have no idea how I will handle the day to day of three kids. From what I hear from other moms with big families, you just learn to cope. I don't think this is abnormal. No matter how "ready" you think you are for parenthood (of any number of children), you soon learn there is no way to fully prepare. In related news, Priya's baby is coming out "in just a minute" and Silas's baby is kicking him in the ribs and still likes lollypops.
